Background
Having recently designed a conversational AI agent for work (launched Q2 2026), I realized my personal site needed the same treatment. For the new generation of users, clicking through traditional navigation is creating friction; they want to ask a smart bot and get straight answers immediately.
How I vibed
I used Google AI Studio to explore its capabilities, driving the product, UX, and UI directions entirely through prompts. The generated code snippets were highly compatible and easily dropped directly into the footer block of my WordPress site.
A note for fellow designers: While you can achieve similar results using Claude Design on a paid Claude Pro plan, Google AI Studio allows you to publish up to two live artifacts without a subscription. If you want to experiment without adding another monthly fee, check out Google AI Studio.
Reflections: Enterprise Scale vs. Indie Velocity
The most striking takeaway from this mini-artifact was the contrast it provided to my recent corporate work. The conversational AI I designed for AT&T’s Flagship app was a massive enterprise initiative that touched multiple layers of business strategy, required rigorous alignment across teams, and involved complex stakeholder approvals.
For this personal site, however, I was the Product Designer, UX Designer, Front-End Engineer, and ultimate stakeholder all rolled into one. I relished the sheer velocity of this concept-to-code workflow, shipping the entire artifact over a single weekend. It gave me the freedom to iterate on live code, making unilateral, on-the-fly UX decisions (like docking suggested questions directly next to the text field) simply because it felt right.
Because this was a lightweight personal project, I didn’t dive into the extensive intention-mapping and rigorous training required for an enterprise-level bot. However, I did get to inject a bit of personality into the model’s training points.
